january
A new year heralds the time
of trying to keep Persephone's dream alive
while ice and snow blankets our worlds.
Quite the task.
January, my month of birth,
all garnet and white and grey,
cold and quiet,
commands me to dream the dream,
to begin the wait
and to "go inside."
Must I go?
"Yes," she whispers.
"And let the process emerge on its own terms.
Be open to all of the possibilities."
And so in this birth month,
I focus on the birth dream journey,
embracing the preparation, the labor and the joy
and anticipating the birth.
