in the forest very deep
on a hillside tall and steep
awakened from a winter’s sleep
are the trilliums
in April’s rain they do appear
under May’s skies blue and clear
then you’ll know that spring is here
sweet, sweet trilliums
a trio’s white, true and fair
swaying softly in springtime air
there’s nothing here that can compare
to our dear trilliums
on a hillside tall and steep
I hear God speak to me in sleep
the secret’s hidden, still and deep
among our trilliums
