PAINT CAN ART
This art activity is all about design! Students can appreciate that anything is a surface when it comes to creating art!
Supplies are simple:
- Gallon paint can with lid (new, from hardware store)
- Spray paint the can orange or black
- Glue, glue gun and sticks, scissors
- Various craft supplies and Halloween supplies ~ for example: ribbons, fabric, glitter, yarns, raffia, buttons, feathers, eyes, spiders, skeletons, etc.
The completed art can be used as an autumn sculpture or even a trick and treat container!
Here is what some of the Greenleaf Way Studio artists came up with! Each is a colorful and unique autumn design!

SKELETON MASKS
A popular subject for both Halloween and Mexico’s Day of the Dead, is the skeleton. Like the paint can art, this one is also all about design and personal expression.
For my mask I used a template that I designed (see template one), along with glitter glue, scribbles (a sort of puffy paint), craft sequins and some other fu-fu stuff.
If you want to make your own design, you can use template two, blank, with no design. This is a project that the whole family will enjoy!
As always, if you try out these projects at home or in the classroom, I would love to hear and see all about it!
